Catherine is Minister Commercial & Senior Trade Commissioner for the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) in South Asia. She leads Austrade’s across the region including India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Catherine’s executive and non-executive career spans public, private and not-for-profit sectors. As CEO of Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority, (a Public Trading Enterprise), during a period of unprecedented foreshore development, Catherine was responsible for an asset portfolio in excess of AUD 1 billion and a P&L of over AUD 100 million.
Earlier in her career, she held positions as the Counsellor, Public Diplomacy at the Australian Embassy in Tokyo, Head of Public Relations for Australian Television International, Head of International Policy and Promotion at the Australian Council for the Arts and Deputy Director at the Asialink Centre at the University of Melbourne.
She has served on a number of boards, committees and advisory panels including Place Design Group, Luna Park Reserve Trust, Business Events Sydney, Western Sydney University, City of Sydney and Monkeybaa Theatre Company. She holds a Bachelor of Arts and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
