Mr. G D Gopalakrishnan, is a graduate engineer in Electronics & Instrumentation from Annamalai University and a postgraduate in Management from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. He is currently the CEO of M/s. Sulochana Cotton Spinning Mills Pvt Ltd, Tirupur and Managing Director of M/s. Evergreen Solar Systems India Pvt Ltd, Coimbatore. M/s. Sulochana Mills is into the manufacturing of Melange Yarns & Recycled Polyester Fibres made out of used PET bottles. Every day, around 150 MT of used PET bottles are converted into Polyester Fibres which goes mainly for the manufacturing of knitted fabrics and garments. Mr. Gopalakrishnan carries a wide experience in building new technologies for environment protection, afforestation programs, energy conservation, renewable energy, plastics & metal recycling, manufacturing automation, value engineering, risk assessment & mitigation programs, etc. Under his leadership, his company won the Green Champion Award for industries from Tamil Nadu Government in June, 2022.
