Mr. René Piil Pedersen is Managing Director of A.P. Moller Singapore Pte Ltd (Maersk), which is the owner of around 135 container vessels registered in Singapore representing investments of more than 6 billion USD.
Furthermore, as Chief Group Representative, Mr. René Piil Pedersen is responsible for Government Relations and Public Affairs in India, the rest of South Asia as well as Southeast Asia and Oceania.
These container vessels are operated from both Mumbai, India, and Singapore, supported by services centers, tech development, training academies and more in Chennai, Bangalore, and Pune. Furthermore, most of these vessels are manned with male and female senior mariners and cadets from India.
Mr. René Piil Pedersen is Vice President of Singapore Shipping Association and Council Member of Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF). Furthermore, he is serving on the boards of various companies with activities in ship owning, shipping line/logistics, green energy, offshore and more.
Mr. René Piil Pedersen have been based in Singapore since 2012 with global and regional responsibilities, especially in South Asia, Southeast Asia and Oceania. Previously, he has worked in different roles centered around business development, trade facilitation and government relations based in Copenhagen, Denmark and Brussels, Belgium.
He holds a Master’s in Economics (M.Sc.) from University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and an AMP from IESE Business School, Barcelona, Spain. Furthermore, he finalized other executive courses from INSEAD and other international business schools.
Mr. René Piil Pedersen is a Danish national, married to Lisa and they have two adult sons.
