Mr Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu is the Chairman and Managing Director of Lakshmi Machine Works Limited (LMW), based at Coimbatore. A publicly traded company, LMW is globally acknowledged as one among the top three textile machinery manufacturers that manufacture the complete range of textile spinning machinery besides machine tools, high precision castings and components for the aerospace industry. Mr Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu also serves as a Chairman on the boards of other companies that operate in the business verticals of textiles, gear-making, aerospace, medical and engineering plastics, logistics etc.
Mr Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu has been actively associated with various trade and industry promotion bodies in India like the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Southern Regional Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry, South India Textile Research Association and the Government of India constituted Textiles Committee and the Development Council for Textile Machinery Industry in India.
Mr Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu is a trustee of the G Kuppuswamy Naidu Charity Trust that runs a 650 bedded multi-specialty hospital in Coimbatore. This trust also supports the cause of education through a feeder school, a higher secondary school, both located at Coimbatore and through an Arts and Science college located at Kovilpatti in Tamil Nadu. He is also a trustee in the GKD Charity Trust that operates an Industrial Training Institute and a college for Management study programme. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management, Coimbatore, India.
Shri Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu received an MBA degree from the Philadelphia University, USA. An avid believer in social welfare and philanthropy, Mr Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu is actively associated with the UYIR Trust based in Coimbatore, India, an organisation that promotes practices and awareness about safe use of roads. He is also actively involved in devising and implementing corporate social responsibility projects in the areas of healthcare, education, infrastructure and livelihood enhancement. In recognition of his efforts, he has been bestowed with numerous awards and recognitions.
