ICHISAKA Hirofumi

Senior Executive Director of International Relations in the Osaka Prefectural Government

Mr. ICHISAKA Hirofumi serves as Senior Executive Director of International Relations in the Osaka Prefectural Government and is responsible for managing a wide range of international exchanges and inter-provincial diplomacy. He is working to promote exchanges in broader fields with foreign countries and regions, through arranging meetings and activities between Governor or Vice Governors and foreign leaderships and officials.

Since joining the Osaka Prefectural Government in 1988, he has been engaged in international exchange projects including economic exchanges such as trade and investment promotion, partner/friendship exchanges with overseas provinces (sister city exchanges), port and harbor promotion, and tourism.

He has also worked in several areas. For example, he strived to attract and host the 1995 APEC informal summit (APEC Osaka Meeting), work as an advisor for management of companies funded by Osaka Prefecture, and reform the Japanese fundamental statistics.

He was assigned to work in the Osaka City Government as the Manager of International Relations in the Economic Strategy Bureau for two years from 2013. He contributed to assisting the promotion of inter-university partnerships. in the field of life sciences with sister cities and overseas expansion of small and medium-sized enterprises. 

For two years from 2020, he worked in the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition, the Organizer of the Expo 2025, as the Executive Director Extraordinary
International Relations Bureau. In this role, he was responsible for inviting and accepting official participants from overseas countries and international organizations.

During his visit to India, he hopes to strengthen ties between India and Osaka in the investment field. He also aims to introduce the Osaka-Kansai Expo and deepen the exchange of human resources.
