Chang Jae-bok

Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of India

Chang Jae-bok is currently Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of India. Previously, he was the Ambassador for Public Diplomacy (2019-2021) and the Deputy Minister for Protocol Affairs (2018-2019) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). He also served as the Ambassador for OIF (Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie) briefly in 2018. Prior to that, he served as the Consul-General of Korea in Milan (2014-2018) and as the Director-General for Protocol Affairs (2012-2014). He also served as the Deputy Permanent Delegate to UNESCO in Paris and before that as the Director for the Human Rights and Social Affairs Division, as well as the Protocol Division in the Foreign Ministry. He was also posted in the Korean Embassies in France, the Swiss Federation, the Republic of Ghana and the Korean Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York. Before joining the Ministry in 1988, Ambassador Chang received his B.A. in French Language and Literature from Seoul National University.
