Aqeel Panaruna is a distinguished third-generation businessman, boasting four decades of expertise derived from the esteemed Anaikar family in Ambur, Vellore district, Tamil Nadu. Hailingfrom pioneers in the Indian leather exports sector since the early 1970s, Aqeel embarked on his professional journey by joining the family business established by his grandfather in 1984. He undertook his graduation in Business Management studies at the prestigious Loyola College,Chennai.
In 1995, Aqeel Panaruna founded the Florence Shoe Company Pvt Ltd, an eminent name within the leather and footwear industry. This enterprise quickly gained prominence as a leading exporter to international brands, solidifying its reputation on the global stage.
As a visionary leader in the leather and allied products sector, Aqeel Panaruna has consistently led the industry with distinction. Serving as the Chairman of the Council for Leather Exports, he has played a pivotal role in shaping and influencing the industry's trajectory. His strategic insights have been instrumental in formulating a robust Foreign Trade Policy (FTP), contributing significantly to the surge in exports within the sector.
