Mallika Srinivasan, a thought leader of exceptional calibre, renowned strategist, and devoted philanthropist, is deeply committed to driving progress in agriculture, industry, trade, education and healthcare in India. A visionary, her unrelenting pursuit of excellence and her significant contributions to the Indian agriculture machinery sector and academia have garnered widespread recognition.
Currently, she is the Chairman & Managing Director of TAFE - Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited, the second largest tractor manufacturer and serves on the board of AGCO Corporation, USA, a Fortune 500 Company, representing TAFE as the single largest shareholder. Additionally, she holds the esteemed position of Chairperson of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), Government of India. She serves on the Global Board of the U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC) and the India-US CEO Forum and led the B20 – India Task Force on “Inclusive GVCs for Resilient Global Trade and Investment”.
Her remarkable contributions extend to the boards of prominent organizations and institutions. She served as an Independent Director on the boards of Tata Global Beverages Limited (Tata Consumer Products; 2008-2018), Tata Steel Limited (2012-2022), and the executive board of the Indian School of Business (ISB) - Hyderabad (2002-2022). She was also a member of the governing board of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) – Madras and continues to serve on the governing body of public institutions - Sankara Nethralaya, Cancer Institute and Stella Maris College, Chennai.
Mallika has been honored with several prestigious awards, underscoring her outstanding achievements, including the Global Corporate Leadership Award 2021 by the U.S.- India Business Council (USIBC), Business Woman of the Year Award at ET Prime Women Leadership Awards 2020, Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur Award at The Economic Times Family Business Awards 2018, Sir Jehangir Ghandy Medal 2015 for Social and Industrial Peace by the Xavier School of Management - Jamshedpur, Business Thought Leader of the Year Award 2012 at the NDTV Profit Business Leadership Awards and was voted the Entrepreneur of the Year (Manufacturing) by Ernst & Young.
Mallika has been recognized and featured consistently in the Fortune India list of Most Powerful Women in Business, BBC 100 Women - 2016 list and Business Today magazine featured her in the Business India’s Hall of Fame. She was also named the Woman Leader of the Year by Forbes India and recognized by Forbes Asia as one of the Top 50 Asian Power Businesswomen. Honorary Doctorates have been conferred on her by the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) in 2017, in recognition of her contribution to global agriculture, machinery business and academia. The Government of India conferred on her the prestigious Padma Shri award for her contribution to Trade and Industry in 2014.
