Hema is the Co-Founder and Vice Chairman of Green Collar Agritech Solutions Pvt
Ltd, a company that enhances the livelihood of Small and Marginal Farmers (SMF).
Green Collar makes customised quality grading systems for all the stakeholders of
the agri value chain, by harnessing powerful technologies of AI/ML in crop
production and post-harvest processing solutions.
Hema was the founder and former CEO of Ampere Vehicles, an early mover that
spearheaded India's E-Vehicles revolution. Ampere has carved a niche for itself as an
innovative technology creator in the Indian Electric Vehicle Industry, contributing to
environmental sustainability. Ampere has been acquired and Hema has fully exited
the venture.
A serial entrepreneur, Hema has spent the last 30 years creating and driving varied
entrepreneurial ventures spanning Professional Services, Electronics, Skill
Development and Automobiles. Hema strongly promotes Job Creation and focusses
on Women empowerment. She also invests and mentors Innovative disruptive
startups from smaller cities that solves societal problems.
Hema is the past chair of TiE ( The Indus Entrepreneurs) Women program, a global
initiative of TiE that embrace, engage and empower Women. She was the Former
President of TiE Coimbatore. Hema is also the Founder of Uni Connect Pte Ltd,
Singapore. Hema is the patron of Society for Smart E-Mobility (SSEM), Coimbatore.
Hema authored her first book in Tamil, Thadaigalai Thagarthu (தடைகளைத் தகர்த்து) which encapsulates the nine relationships that a small business must
handle on a regular basis.
Hema holds an MBA from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia and a
Bachelors degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Government College of
Technology, Coimbatore.
