First generation entrepreneur, Mr. Kamal Kumar Johari is a veteran of the Indian diaper manufacturing industry. A CA by qualification, Johari founded Nobel Hygiene Pvt. Ltd., with his own savings, in 1999.
The company that introduced adult diapers to the Indian market, Nobel Hygiene, has produced world-class adult diaper, baby diaper and feminine hygiene products for over two decades. Johari’s products—Friends Adult Diapers, Teddyy Baby Diapers, Snuggy Baby Diapers and, RIO Pads—are used by over 5 million Indian households and exported to 20+ countries.
With a dream to create healthier, safer, Indian-made hygiene products for every stage of life, Johari has worked relentlessly through recessions, economic policy changes and, the COVID pandemic to create an essential product that delivers no matter the circumstance.
Under his leadership the company has grown to become the undisputed Indian leader in the adult diaper category and the largest Indian manufacturer of both, adult and baby diapers.
Mr. Johari credits the incredible journey from “10 pieces to 10 crore pieces every month” to Nobel’s promise of “excellent quality, excellent price” and the dedicated effort of his entire sales team, who ensure not only stock availability but also work tirelessly to educate retailers and consumers.
In his current role, as Managing Director, he oversees the overall growth of the business and ensures that there is strict quality control of all offerings. His efforts have not just helped create an FMCG powerhouse, but have also brought about a paradigm shift in the perception around incontinence in India.
Among other honours, Mr. Johari in 2019 was awarded ‘Most Promising Business Leader of Asia-2019’ by The Economic Times and has also been decorated by the Indian Institute of Chartered Accountancy.
