Mr. Rahul Mammen Mappillai is the Managing Director (C.E.O) of MRF Ltd, India’s largest tyre manufacturer with revenues of US$ 2.8 Billion and market capitalisation of US$ 5.53 Billion. The company was founded by his grandfather - the late Mr. K.M Mammen Mappillai. Rahul holds a B.A (Hons) Economics degree from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and a Master of Business Administration from the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). He was inducted into the organisation in 2003 and has varied experience in all major departments of the company before assuming the role of Managing Director in 2017. Mr. Rahul is very passionate about R&D and Manufacturing Technology, and under his leadership, MRF has made significant investments in robotics and cutting-edge manufacturing technology enabling the company to rapidly improve product quality and capacity. He has also done a lot of work in Research and Development and has invested significant amounts in building best-in-class R&D capabilities for MRF. The combination of focus in Manufacturing Technology and R&D has ensured that MRF’s products are the most preferred in all the segments the company operates in. He is also driving the implementation of Digital Technology across the company. He is very passionate about cricket and is responsible for MRF Pace Foundation which trains talented cricketers from all over India, and other cricket playing nations, in the much-specialised craft of pace bowling. The training is done completely free of cost and the academy is considered today, as the premier centre for fast bowling in the globe.
