An entrepreneur with business interests in engineering, Mr. Sriram is a memory keeper by passion. He delves deep into the history of India, particularly South India and Chennai city. He pioneered the concept of heritage walks in the city in 1999. He also leads heritage tours once in three months to various historical locations in India. He has authored over 25 books on Carnatic music, corporate biography and the city. His latest work is Chennai, A Biography, published by Aleph Book Company. Mr. Sriram is editor of Madras Musings, the fortnightly dedicated to Chennai’s built, natural and cultural heritage, which is supported by 25 corporate houses of the city. He is also Secretary of the Music Academy, Madras in which capacity he is the convenor of its annual conference in December. Sriram is active on social media on the causes he champions.
